Female UFC Fighters

UFC is a sport that is dominated by men. However, some women have beaten the odds by scaling the heights in the UFC to hold titles and dominate the sport. The first women to fight in the UFC were Liz Carmouche and Ronda Rousey. Since then, there have been more and more women involved in UFC matches.

Number of UFC Female Fighters

Currently, there are over one hundred women in the UFC. The number has been increasing and is expected to increase significantly in the next few years. The featherweight division has only seven women, while the bantamweight division has over thirty fighters. Flyweight division has the highest number of female fighters, which stand at around fifty fighters, and strawweight division has about thirty women competitors.

Top UFC Female Fighters

There are notable great female UFC fighters who managed to build their career in UFC. The following are just some of the current UFC female fighters who have dominated the female UFC;

  • Rose Namajunas

Rose Namajunas is one of the greatest female UFC fighters currently. She became famous after she knocked out Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 2017. She has been able to defend her title when she won against Jedrzejczyk again in 2018.

  • Valentina Shevchenko

As the current lightweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko has been able to pull a massive following in the UFC. Out of the nineteen matches that Valentina Shevchenko has participated in, she has been able to win sixteen.

  • Joanna Jedrzejczyk

Joanna Jedrzejczyk began her UFC career in 2014, and since then, she has managed to be among the top UFC fighters. Out of the eighteen fights she has participated in, she has won fifteen. She has also held five titles.

These three are among the top female UFC fighters. Other notable names include Cris Cyborg, Amanda Nunes, and Ronda Rousey.
